He gained a BFA in Photography from an academy in Amsterdam.  He has photographed Mongolia's street children for the magazine of the   American Museum of Natural History and the Iraq War for Fortune. Kratochvil had many publications and many contributions to many other publications. He  received  many awards and was very known for his work in the business of Photography. Also, he was know greatly for being suspended from the photo agency for sexual  harassment. Antonin Kratochvil is the founder of the VII photo agency. As a photojournalist, he had tacked a great deal of human catastrophe and upheaval, which prove to be interesting images. I think that those sort of images are good because it really helps the people who weren't at the scene see what really happened and feel the emotion of the image even though they weren't really there.  Th...

Sebastiào Salgado was born on February 8, 1944. Salgado had studied economics, but had began his career as a photographer in 1973 in Paris, France. He had worked for various photo agencies for a while, until he and Lelia Selgado formed Amazonas Images, an agency that was created exclusively for just his work. He had traveled all over the world for his work for his projects. Many of his images appeared in books and press publications. Salgado has had a very successful career receiving many awards and being recognized for his magnificent artwork.  I personally really enjoyed Salgado's photos because many of them demonstrated the poor and the powerless people. These images really conveyed these peoples lives very accurately and really had a strong emotional appeal to many people like me. They make you realize what some people really go through day by day in their everyday lives.  The image I...

Ralph Gibson created many Photographs and Monographs, but was best know for his photographic books. His images often conveyed fragments with erotic and mysterious undertones. I really think that Gibson's artwork was truly amazing to me and really spoke about the true photographer that Gibson was. I had chosen the Photo below because, as said above, it conveys erotic and mysterious undertones. This image is really interesting and appealing as it is really kind o...

When Erwit was 10 years old, his family has immigrated to the United States of America. While in America, Elliot Erwit had attended the Los Angeles City College, where he studied filmmaking and photography. Elliot Erwit was a photographer who was considered the master of his medium. He was especially known for his candid and humorous black and white images. He is responsible for some of the most iconic photographs of the nineteenth century. To me it seems as though Erwit had great success in his career and really created some interesting images that the public really enjoyed. Following that, Erwit had also created many photobooks, with many of them focusing on dogs. Erwit had said that he wants pictures with emotion and well it really comes out in his photographs. Below is an image I included because I really thought it conveyed Erwit's ...

Michael Kenna

Image
Michael Kenna was a photographer best known for his unusual and unique white and black landscapes featuring light from dawn or even at night. These photos included long exposures to receive the best results within the image. Most of Kenna's images focused on human-made structures and/or sculptural masses and how they interacted with the atmospheric condition of the natural landscape. Michael Kenna was a successful photographer because of his unique images. He was so successful with the unique photos he created mostly because of his long exposure times. By utilizing long exposure times, Michael Kenna was able to capture an image that the eye cannot visually see by itself in real life. I think long exposure images are really interesting and cool as they capture and bring in light overtime and all of that light captured is all used in one image to sort of make the image look alive and active. The images posted below are both images created by Michael Kenna. The first image is a nigh...

Adam Fuss

Adam Fuss was a very popular artist during the time of the 1970s-1990s. He had grew up in England. While in England he had started to document the natural environment around him through photography. Those documentations eventually let Fuss to creating unique and unusual photographic processes that eventually led to Fuss abandoning the Camera altogether. Because he abandoned the camera, Fuss became a particularly interesting artist because of his different methods of artistry. Next, Adam Fuss abandoned photography altogether and began creating daguerreotypes and photograms. Fuss was best know for his life size photograms that were not common at the time. Fuss's work are strictly pieces of light and shadow, making them very intriguing to look at and observe. I particularly admire Fuss's work as his life size photograms were truly incredible and really spoke to me. The pictures I included below are life size photograms that Fuss created. I really like his artwork as they are lif...
