Photography Changes Everything

Antonin Kratochvil was born in 1947 in Czechoslovakia. He gained a BFA in Photography from an academy in Amsterdam.  He has photographed Mongolia's street children for the magazine of the   American Museum of Natural History and the Iraq War for Fortune. Kratochvil had many publications and many contributions to many other publications. He  received  many awards and was very known for his work in the business of Photography. Also, he was know greatly for being suspended from the photo agency for sexual  harassment. Antonin Kratochvil is the founder of the VII photo agency. As a photojournalist, he had tacked a great deal of human catastrophe and upheaval, which prove to be interesting images. I think that those sort of images are good because it really helps the people who weren't at the scene see what really happened and feel the emotion of the image even though they weren't really there.  The image below is one of Kratochvil's images

Sebastiào Salgado was born on February 8, 1944. Salgado had studied economics, but had began his career as a photographer in 1973 in Paris, France. He had worked for various photo agencies for a while, until he and Lelia Selgado formed Amazonas Images, an agency that was created exclusively for just his work. He had traveled all over the world for his work for his projects. Many of his images appeared in books and press publications. Salgado has had a very successful career receiving many awards and being recognized for his magnificent artwork.  I personally really enjoyed Salgado's photos because many of them demonstrated the poor and the powerless people. These images really conveyed these peoples lives very accurately and really had a strong emotional appeal to many people like me. Arnold Newman was an American Photographer who was born in Manhattan, New York. He had grew up in Atlantic City, New Jersey and later in his life moved to Miami, Florida. While in Miami, Newman studied Painting and Drawing at the University of Miami. After only 2 years at the university, Newman was unable to afford continuing his studies there and then moved on to Philadelphia for work. At his first job, Newman was making 49 cent portraits. After this job, Newman had worked with many other studios and had many other jobs, in which he obtained great success. Next, Arnold Newman was an American Photographer famous for his "Environmental Portraits," of artists and politicians. Newman was actually one of the first to use this environmental Portraiture in his photographs. Ralph Gibson was an American art photographer born on January 16, 1939. Early in Gibson's life he enlisted in the United States Navy and had became a photographers mate until 1960. He then continued his studies at the San Francisco Art Institute. Following his time at the institute, he began his career as an assistant to Dorothea Lange for a period of time and then went on to work with Robert Frank on 2 films. Gibson went about his life having a very successful career, accomplishing many things and winning many awards. Ralph Gibson created many Photographs and Monographs, but was best know for his photographic books. His images often conveyed fragments with erotic and mysterious undertones. I really think that Gibson's artwork was truly amazing to me and really spoke about the true photographer that Gibson was. Elliot Erwitt was born in Paris, France in the year of 1926. Although he was born in France, his family soon moved to Italy for various reasons. When Erwit was 10 years old, his family has immigrated to the United States of America. While in America, Elliot Erwit had attended the Los Angeles City College, where he studied filmmaking and photography. Elliot Erwit was a photographer who was considered the master of his medium. He was especially known for his candid and humorous black and white images. He is responsible for some of the most iconic photographs of the nineteenth century. To me it seems as though Erwit had great success in his career and really created some interesting images that the public really enjoyed.
